Day nine and ten of my fourteen day media fast where I don’t watch TV, listen to music, watch movies, stalk people on social media, or listen to the news.
I figured going into this media fast that I would be at peace, but I never thought I would be this well rested. I lead a very jam-packed life and I thought that removing most of the activities in my life that relax me would have made me edgy, but it had the opposite effect. I actually feel more rested. I didn’t write yesterday because I was traveling in the car for 12 hours and we left early in the morning. I much prefer to fly, but I did enjoy the time I had to take off work. I’m convinced this fast needs to be permanent. I will most likely reinstate my bath time classical music, but I am thinking 6 days of media fasting per week would be a nice change to my daily life. What do you think? Have you tried a media fast for even one day? It can definitely help clear your mind and give you more of a chance to think. Have you experienced any benefits?
